I wrote to Woody about signing a card for my son who is serving in the Navy.  He did that thanks to Nellie, and we, Woody and I, took some pictures holding my son''s riding vest.  At the time, he asked for a copy of the pictures.

I can''t attach them here.  May I have an email address to which I can attach the pictures?

Had a great time this year.  Thanks for everything, folks.  A special thanks to Nellie, and, of course, to Woody.  My son really appreciated the pictures.

Again, thanks.

My gang of 6 were first timers!!  All of us had the time of our lives.  The
concerts, the greatest, what a line up.  And the people were from all over
the world meeting some of them was a blast.  Lost 4 pair of jeans, found
them were I left at the laundry 24 hours later, folded and stacked.  Thats
honesty, thats the kind of people that were there.  THANKS from all of us

Buffalo Chip,

I just wanted to say how excited I am for the Tribute to Veterans & US Servicemembers that will feature John McCain.  My dad is a Vietnam Vet and I am currently serving on active duty in the US Army, and we will both be attending the rally this year for the first time as a father/son.  Thanks for putting on a such a great event.  I am sure it will be something my dad and I will enjoy for the rest of our lives.

sincerely.

To: Woody & the whole Sturgis Buffalo Chip crew:

I HAD A FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE at the Sturgis Rally

Sturgis Rally '03, Great music, great beer, great people, great food, few bugs, no rain (I know you can't accept credit for that one)...
After my stories, I've got about 8 more people who want to come to the Sturgisa Rally in 2004!
Now where is that Sturgis Rally reservation page...I Found the    Sturgis Rally Reservations here

—Steve Grimes    Thank you once again and I will see you next year at the Sturgis Rally!

 Woody and Gang,

It is very amazing how you and your STAFF put together the Sturgis event each year. I have been there for 4 years now and each year just gets better than the previous year. Every year, you have learned from the previous years experience which changes to make the stay at the Chip better. For example, for 2005, you used the new entrance on the west side of the property and it was far more efficient way to get your passes, etc. and you kept the roads clear instead of having traffic backed up on the road for a mile or more as it was in previous years.

The level of concert talent you are able to attract to the Chip is amazing. And, the way that the Chip’s entrance pass works by serving as the tickets for all of the concerts makes staying at the Chip the best deal anywhere for the Sturgis Rally. The cost to stay at the other campgrounds for the Rally is close to the cost of the Chip’s tickets alone and the other campgrounds don’t include entertainment like the Chip does.

Keep up the great work and I am looking forward to the 2006 Rally, which will be here before we know it. Bruce, Saint Joseph, Michigan

I attended the Sturgis Rally in 2003, and I know you probably get a lot of e-mails but I had to write. This was my first year at the Buffalo Chip. I'm 52. The one thing I like is to be told the truth about things and I must admit, your description of the Chip was right on. Yes, the restrooms at the south end were "rough" (can we get seats on those pipes!?) but I was not surprised by anything _ except that it was more fun than I thought it would be. I don't know many places that could handle that many people in the manner you did. I was impressed. See you at the Sturgis Rally next year.Your friend in Alabama,

Dave, Tulsa, OK.   PS- If any of you guys are coming down to Daytona, look me up on the way!

The fun is endless...we had such a blast! Where else can you go..spend 90% of your time naked and meet the greatest people in the world!!! We'll miss everyone.....until next year guys..WE LOVE YOU!!!

The chip is "THE BEST PLACE ANYONE COULD STAY, EVER !!!!! WE HAD SO MUCH FUN, MET SO MANY GOOD PEOPLE, SEEN THE BEST SHOWS. THANK YOU WOODY AND THE WHOLE CHIP CREW FOR A WONDERFUL 1ST TIME EXPERIENCE. " WE WILL BE BACK"

This was our first trip to Sturgis. We had the time of our lives. 2 single women traveling alone and we felt safe then entire time. I met the greatest people from all over the country. All of the concerts were awsome. Brad, Mike and Woody are doing a great job of making The Chip "The place to be at Sturgis". I can't wait for next year. I have a few minor suggestions to implement for next year but all and all it was one of the Greatest Week we have ever had! Thanks guys for a great time!

What a party!I want to make reservations for next year now. So as soon as you guys have time please let me know.We need three rv sites with water and electric. As close as possible to the action. (stage)Thanks so much, again what a party, you guys are great and do a really great job.

Hey Woody & the Gang,

WOW! The VIP at the Chip ROCKED! It was the wildest & craziest eight day vacation of our lives. This was our 1st Sturgis trip for my best friend and I. Cruised up from OKC. Leighan & Bonnie were great. The security at the concerts was right on. Chad & Mike were the best. Bring all those guys back next year. The concerts were awesome. The VIP bar with Jack Daniels & Tequila Petron girls made us two single guys feel right at home. The food hit the spot after riding all day. All the people we met were immediate friends. We will definitely be back next year in the VIP. Thanx for a total rewarding experience.

We had another great time at the Chip! (Our second year there.) I got a Buffalo Chip pin that was a flaming guitar while I was there, but I lost it on the way home. I looked in the on-line store but didn't see any new pins listed. Do you still have any for sale? It was great looking pin and I'd love to replace it. Thanks for the wonderful entertainment. I can't imagine a Sturgis trip without the Buffalo Chip experience. Thanks,

—Ann B

THANKS Woody, Carol & Crew, This was my first time spending the rally at the Chip and Ill be back... you can count on it. The concert line-up was outstanding and I cant remember having as much fun. Sunday was a bit depressing, but Im already looking forward to next year. Congrats, you converted me, I normally stay at a house in town! Looking forward to the online pictures! See ya next year!!!!!

This was our first year to the Chip and it was incredible! Pure tent city where we were, but met wonderful people from all over the country! The facilities were way better than I expected, (nice HOT showers!!) and the trash collection each day kept everything neat. We had everything we needed at the Chip (except a paved back-way to sneak in and avoid the crowd in downtown Sturgis!!) Thanks so much - see you next year!!

THANKS FOR THE PARTY! OUT OF 4 YEARS THERE THIS WAS BY FAR THE BEST EVER! I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR- SEE YA'LL THEN!!The concerts were good...Kid Rock was the best...enjoyed REO too! Met lots of great people...Richard, Elliot & Larry...the gang from NY. Hope you all made it home safe! I know I'll be back to Sturgis next year and I might stay at the Chip again...but not in a tent...It will be in a RV. :) It was tooooo cold! Thanks for a memoriable week. I was sad that it had to end. And believe it or not...I miss the voice of the announcer saying Good Morning Chippers! LOL

From the two bald-headed guys who helped run the mechanical bull...we had a kick-ass time! We're coming back next year and we're bringing all our partyin' friends. The Chip is the place to be. Thanks Woody and crew, you guys ROCK, keep makin' it happen. See you in about 360 days. Later

Hey - Woody here again. And there are more messages already. So, 'nuff said. We'll finish cleaning up and start getting ready for your return. The party's on for 2005!

This was our 1st year at the chip, my brotherinlaw has been there 4 years in a row, but my wife and I decided to take the ole shovel head north we live in missouri we had a great time everone was great to us we partied 4-- 7 days strait I had to get away from the place to get my sanity back, hope to see you this year Toby keith was great in the rain Buggsy and Shelley Chllicothe Mo.

Woody and Carol: Just had to write about my great times at the Chip in ' 02, 03 and 04. The concerts were great, the night life wild and the sights and sounds will never be forgotten. However, in '05 I made a mistake and decided to stay at a local hotel, which was nice, but it was not the Chip and I will be back home at the Chip in '06! In '05 I realized that the Chip is the only place to stay and found myself wanting to go back but not being able to get out of a huge financial commitment to the hotel. SOOO, anyone out there who reads this, don't make the same mistake. Some of the really cool things at the Chip: riding to do everything, everywhere, sitting on the bike while partying and watching a kick ass concert, meeting fellow bikers--forging friendships, buffalo burgers, burn outs, beautiful women, crazy stunts (my bike was one of those jumped by Robbie Knievel in '03) and the comradery of other bikers. I have to admit that I never thought I would be coming back to Sturgis for the 5th year, but now at the break of Spring each year, I start thinking of Sturgis and the Chip. It's addictive, but good for you! Ride safe. Go Chip! See ya in a little more than a month and a half.... Dave Canale, Columbus, Ohio

Hey Woody,

Just wanted to   you a line. We emailed a couple of years ago about the band
and other stuff.  Just wanted to say that if there wasn''t a Chip, we
wouldn''t come.  As it is, we are coming for the 6th straight year.  We now
have about 30 people who all meet at "Sweatervest Hill" (Emeral Pond to you"
from all over the us from NY city to LA and now includes Canada!  We love
all that you do!  THe new website is really good - gives you a great first
impression and looks powerfull with all the bands listed that way.  Also,
gotta love your choice of bands.  Was getting a little tired of the tribute
type bands.  Love the additon of KWS and the new age group. Also, the
improvements to the pond and the JD pavillion have transformed the entire
place.  We used to get up and bolt out of our tent (8am = 90 degrees in
there) and head off - party somewhere else during the day and then return to
eat dinner, catch a few zz''s then head to the concert.  Now, we roll out of
bed, grab some grub, and head to the pond.  A couple of days last year we
never left it!  What a blast.  Then the additon of the JD pavillion made it
so we could really enjoy the concert and continue to have fun.  You''ve done
a great job.  Last thought - somehow you have managed to upgrade and still
keep it wild and fun.  I was worried that eventually the actuaries would
tell you to put in designated spaces and it would turn into a KOA. The other
major compliment I have for you is in how you have handled hiring and
training your staff.  There is just the right amount of structure and
everyone is so friendly.  Keep it up and know that there are a lot of us
that appreciate what you do.

AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! I don''t think any other word could describe the time I had last year at The Chip. It was my first year to Sturgis...I had planned on makin the trip regardless, but then I won The Pickle Lickin contest so I was able to bring somebody with me too. It was AMAZING!!! The best time of my life!!! Kinda wished I hadn''t brought the "boyfriend" after I got there and saw what was around...if ya know what I mean  :~P  But, none the less...it was the BEST!!!
Unfornately, with the new position at work...I''m not goin to get to make it this year. Which kills me everytime I get an   from you guys...the line-up this year ROCKS!!! But, don''t fret...I will be back...and I''m bringin even more friends with me next time!!!
You guys F''N ROCK!!! See ya next year!!!

Sturgis and the Chip was the highlight of my 2005!! Took pics, ate, drank and was merry, Had the best entertainment line up I've ever experienced! I've been to Florida for college Spring break in the early 80's (before the law took over) Been to many monster concerts, Daytona Bike Week, week long adult snow ski parties, many 2-4 day partys throughout military and college career, but The Chip was the ULTIMATE in PARTY-ing and ENTERTAINMENT!!!!!! Just would have wished I would have found you earlier, because I wasted alot of years searching to have this great of a time....

Now I've found it.. Anyone reading this, don't hesitate, come see for yourself !!

Thanx Chip Gang for offering such a place!! 06' was nixed for me, due to obligations, but already have reservation for 07', maybe this time TK won't have to play in the thunderstorm.

Dear Woody:

My first trip to Sturgis was in 1982 and I was at the Buffalo Chip. I now own a home in Boulder Canyon that I built last year. I spend a lot of time there but had not been to the Buffalo Chip in probably 15 years. This year I went to the James Gang Ted Nugent concert and was shocked at how big, organized, and wonderful the place had become. Much to my surprise after all these years, I came to realize that when I was there in 1982, it was the first year of the Buffalo Chip. I guess I had assumed that it had been around for a long time. I am enclosing a couple of pictures that I took that year, although I assume you have some pictures from that first year. The stage has been improved just a “little bit.”

I’m sure I will be attending at least one concert every year when I come out for the rally.

Sincerely,

Hello to all,

We stayed at The Buffalo Chip this year for Sturgis and loved it.  This was our first time there at the Chip.  You have done an awesome job on all.  I'm sure we will be back.  My reason for emailing is I have an odd request.  I'm not sure if you can help.  On Sat the 12th we were on the Jack Daniels balcony and I had a mishap of falling off a bar stool. As a result of falling I did break my wrist.  Why I fell off (the story I'm passing around is it was a bar fight) but for real it was a bug that jumped at me.  I know your laughing as have everybody else.  Anyway I want to know what kind of bug it was as I have never seen one before.  Your staff was very helpful and I beleive it was Debbie who threw the bug away.  It was drinking my beer.  If there is anyway you have any idea what kind of bug or a picture I would appreciate it.  I can only decribe it as beetle like as in it looked like that shape, light in color, with wing and long legs and very long antennas.  If you know of this bug please pass it on to me, if not oh well.
Thanks for a great week at the Chip

Greetings!!  My husband and I had the joy of staying at Buffalo Chips for 10 days....what a BLAST!!!  We are total rookies at Sturgis....he has never gone on vacation and I had never camped out...what a combination!!  The people at Buffalo Chips are second to none!!  Everyone from check-in until we left were by far the nicest people!!  Here's a little funny for you.....We arrived on Monday July 31...checked the place out and sort of got things unloaded.  On Monday and Tuesday we used the showers (they were great), on Wednesday when we went up to take showers, my husband couldn't find his shaving kit...finally said "to hell with it" and we went on to take our showers.  On the bathroom sink in the showerhouse sat his shaving kit---untouched.  Doesn't that pretty  much show you the honesty of the people there.  We had no way to lock our pop-up camper, coolers or anything and not one thing was touched.  We get home, a small community in rural Kansas and someone had broke our front storm door trying to break-in.  Now, isn't that just a real kick in the butt!!  I could ramble on for hours on the great time that we had.....again Many, Many thanks to all the wonderful staff at the Buffalo Chips and you bet that we will be back next year (while we were there we called the bank here and told them to sell the farm and house...we were staying!)  You guys are the best!!  Beloit, KS
