Less Rules at the Sturgis Rally the Better
We believe that as few rules as possible is what's needed for the Best Party Anywhere. Adults mature enough and smart enough to ride a bike to Sturgis, South Dakota have proven it year after year. So, these are the few:
If you do have a problem while at the Sturgis Rally
Any problem should be reported to someone at the box office immediately. We'll fix it as soon as possible. No complaining or yelling at the employees is allowed - we both need them to fix problems as they are reported.
Sturgis Rally at the Buffalo Chip is a adult party
Don't bring children. The Sturgis biker party is an adult party. You'll need to sign legal waivers if you do bring children, as it's likely they'll be exposed to nudity.
Buffalo Chip Requires wristbands
Each person must wear an official Sturgis Rally Buffalo Chip wristband at all times. Forgeries will be subject to arrest. NOTE: BROKEN OR LOST WRISTBANDS WILL NOT BE
REPLACED.
While at the Buffalo Chip don’t forget you picture ID
Bring photo ID. It's necessary if you intend to buy beer or alcohol.
Don’t ruin your Sturgis Rally or Buffalo Chip trip by bringing your pet
NO PETS ARE ALLOWED. Leave pets home with the kids.. There will be no exceptions and please don't request one. Please make advance arrangements for your pet. Below is a list of kennels in the Sturgis area:

Smoky the Bear says “ don’t bring your fireworks and Campfire equipment to the Buffalo Chip or Sturgis Rally
Fires/Fireworks: Pursuant to Sturgis, South Dakota Meade County Ordinance #27, it is, during the Sturgis Rally, a Class 2 Misdemeanor for any person to ignite any fireworks or to have a campfire. The only fires allowed are: 1) Liquid fueled grill, meaning a metal or stone device designedto cook food using liquified or gaseous combustible fuel; or 2) those within a charcoal grill, meaning a metal or stone device within a firebox not resting on the ground with a metal grate designed to cook food using charcoal briquets, char wood, hard wood, or similar fuel.
ATV’s and Golf Cart Welcome at the Sturgis Rally Buffalo Chip Campground but please respect other campers and guest
Do not run over a fellow Sturgis Rally partier. 4-wheeled vehicles must be kept parked after dark. This restriction does not apply to ATVs and golf carts, but please use common sense and drive slowly. Speeding ATVs or golf carts, whether or not being driven recklessly, will be grounded at security until the owner departs.

Help us keep the ability to serve you and continue to provide the Sturgis Rally’s Best Party Anywhere. Help us enforce alcohol laws. NO ONE UNDER 21 YEARS OF AGE CAN POSSESS OR CONSUME ALCOHOL ANYWHERE ON THE STURGIS BUFFALO CHIP CAMPGROUND. No adult can provide alcohol to anyone under 21. Violators will be removed from the Sturgis campground grounds without refund and subject to arrest. Fake IDs will be seized and the fakers reported for prosecution. We'll pay a $20 reward to anyone who reports to and helps Security capture a violating underage person or someone supplying alcohol to an underage person
Don’ts when attending a Buffalo Chip concert
Don't bring fireworks, glass, pets, alcohol, drugs or weapons onto the Buffalo Chip’s groundsduring your visit to the Sturgis Rally.
Bear with us as we necessarily check vehicles at the gate and bags, etc., at the amphitheater entrances to exclude bottles, cans, coolers, weapons, video cameras and other contraband out of the Sturgis campground and Sturgis concert amphitheater. Note that no backpacks or coolers, etc. are allowed in the amphitheater at any time.
Sturgis South Dakota Weather
Rain or Shine: Bear with us and our weather. In South Dakota we truthfully say that if you don't like the weather, just wait a minute & it'll change. We live in a semi-arid country. But count on the probability that it will rain at least once and that the wind will blow 100 miles an hour for at least a minute.
Weather may result in the temporary delay or even cancellation of some or all Sturgis entertainment. We can't control it. We have to pay to put it all together whether the weather is good or not. We'll try to give you the time of your life, but it's a "rain or shine" deal and there are no refunds for delays, nonperformance or cancellations because of weather or for any other reason.
Sturgis Rally Chipsters are all one big family
Water faucets in the tent camping areas are to serve all Sturgis Buffalo Chip campers. Garden hoses may not be connected to any such faucet to serve any specific campsite. Violating hoses will be cut without explanation and the owners will be subject to removal.
Last but not least while you are at the Sturgis Rally Buffalo Chip Campground
Admission into the Chip constitutes consent to use without restriction reproductions of your likeness, whether by photograph, video, film or otherwise, for commercial and noncommercial purposes, including but not limited to publication in magazines, video, movies and internet websites about the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Check out time: Anyone with a daily admission pass must be off the premises no later
than 10:00 a.m. the following morning.
No readmission into our Sturgis campground without current day's wristband: No one will be admitted through the gate without a wristband authorizing admission for that day. Therefore, do not leave your wristband in your tent when you leave to cruise around Sturgis and then expect to regain entry without a valid wristband. Such a person will have to purchase an additional day's pass.
