Dirty Entertainment at its Best

The banner that hung at the SDMRI Mud Races said it all - “Windows are for sissys” - meaning, get in your truck, get to the line and get dirty. The side-by-side action was a perfect addition to the Buffalo Chip Sports Complex and when the 46 inch tires, amped up engines and nitrous powered monsters rolled in heads were turning.

It didn’t take too long before the engines of the tuff trucks and tractors from 6 states and Canadian Provinces got the attention they were looking for. The gear jammers made the most of Tuesday and Wednesday with their idea of a perfect party: Dirt, Water & a trophy girl at the end of the track congratulating you on the win.

Racers came out in full force for the side-by-side mud drag action looking to prove their machines worth in just 175 feet. On a more fan-friendly note, drivers took a few fans for a few test runs. From the stories told by the passengers, it gave new meaning to “ride of your life”.

Here are the racers that out-paced the competition.
