Tributes and Salutes for those who Serve
The stars and stripes speak for the freedoms that every American citizen enjoys and strength that is apparent within our Armed Forces. Because of those that braved the rest, an American flag may rise to the sky under salute and under free skies.
Today, we thank those who have served.
Today, we remember the raising of the Worlds Greatest Flag in honor of those soldiers currently standing for the freedoms and individual rights.
On Saturday August 1st, the crowd began to gather as the volunteers from every American Miliitary branch took pride in raising Old Glory. As the 50 by 80 foot flag stood proudly, 120 feet in the air, against the afternoon blue sky the Star Spangled Banner rang out and a moment of silence was shared.

A special photo album and video have been produced as a part of our Veterans Day Salute. Take a look at the gallery which includes breathtaking photos of the memories we made with the Field of Flags, Worlds Greatest Flag Raising and 2009 Buffalo Chip Military Tribute.
Winfred “Doc” Jackson, Tribute Honoree
The Annual Buffalo Chip Military Tribute puts special veterans recognition in the spotlight. The special ceremony on the Wolfman Jack Main Stage brings out the honor guard, military choirs, special presentations and a riveting National Anthem guitar solo.

This year Winfred “Doc” Jackson accepted the Buffalo Chip Military Tribute Honoree for his duties as an Army medic who received a Purple Heard and Silver Star for his service in Vietnam. Doc, a Rapid City native and American Hero received the Buffalo Chip’s token of thanks from Megan McCain.

May God Bless Our Troops
