Woody Says 2005 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally at the Buffalo Chip Campground Will Be the Best One Yet!

Howdy. We've just concluded the best party we've ever had and, though it went relatively like clockwork, we still learned we've much to do to prepare for 2005. I'll share my thoughts and I request you share your suggestions with me at woody@buffalochip.com.

We're always very conscious of our campers' moods and the entire staff goes out of their way to please. We thank you all for the compliments you paid us daily during the rally. These folks work really hard and your compliments mean more than anything to them. I personally thank you for the comments about how friendly, polite and helpful the staff has been to you.

We planned to and did open the box office a week prior to the Rally. Some of you showed up even earlier. That's ok. We'll have it open even earlier next year. Then, it seemed about 20,000 of you showed up in RVs on Friday. Yikes! I hate lines and thank you for your patience. We will devise a different registration process for next year.

We had a new and improved system for placing the RVs this year. It worked better, but it many of you now arrive in RVs bigger than my house, and with trailers bigger than the garage of my dreams. We'll have more changes there next year, too.

The RV folks are the ones most likely to complain about anything and, frankly, the ones most likely to have something to complain about. I refer you to my comments within the website. That said, we had almost no problems. The few problems we did have resulted from squatters stealing someone else's space. There were 2 ways of doing that. One was someone who had no improved space simply parking in one and disappearing, forcing us to secure a tow truck. That won't happen again. The other is folks bringing more than one trailer and companion vehicle and parking them in another's space. That won't happen again, either. Please note the physical improvements as they are constructed and stay tuned for the instructions that will accompany them.

The problems always come to me during the rally, which is only fair, of course, since I'm responsible for everything that is less than perfect. So I'm sensitive to all negative. The RVs worry me. Then I opened my e-mail. I'll just paste a few below and we'll hope to see you at the party August 5 - 14, 2005.

The fun is endless...we had such a blast! Where else can you go..spend 90% of your time naked and meet the greatest people in the world!!! We'll miss everyone.....until next year guys..WE LOVE YOU!!!

The chip is "THE BEST PLACE ANYONE COULD STAY, EVER !!!!! WE HAD SO MUCH FUN, MET SO MANY GOOD PEOPLE, SEEN THE BEST SHOWS. THANK YOU WOODY AND THE WHOLE CHIP CREW FOR A WONDERFUL 1ST TIME EXPERIENCE. " WE WILL BE BACK"

This was our first trip to Sturgis. We had the time of our lives. 2 single women traveling alone and we felt safe then entire time. I met the greatest people from all over the country. All of the concerts were awsome. Brad, Mike and Woody are doing a great job of making The Chip "The place to be at Sturgis". I can't wait for next year. I have a few minor suggestions to implement for next year but all and all it was one of the Greatest Week we have ever had! Thanks guys for a great time!

Hey Woody & the Gang,

WOW! The VIP at the Chip ROCKED! It was the wildest & craziest eight day vacation of our lives. This was our 1st Sturgis trip for my best friend and I. Cruised up from OKC. Leighan & Bonnie were great. The security at the concerts was right on. Chad & Mike were the best. Bring all those guys back next year. The concerts were awesome. The VIP bar with Jack Daniels & Tequila Petron girls made us two single guys feel right at home. The food hit the spot after riding all day. All the people we met were immediate friends. We will definitely be back next year in the VIP.Thanx for a total rewarding experience.

We had another great time at the Chip! (Our second year there.) I got a Buffalo Chip pin that was a flaming guitar while I was there, but I lost it on the way home. I looked in the on-line store but didn't see any new pins listed. Do you still have any for sale? It was great looking pin and I'd love to replace it. Thanks for the wonderful entertainment. THANKS Woody, Carol & Crew,This was my first time spending the rally at the Chip and Ill be back... you can count on it. The concert line-up was outstanding and I cant remember having as much fun. Sunday was a bit depressing, but Im already looking forward to next year. Congrats, you converted me, I normally stay at a house in town! Looking forward to the online pictures!See ya next year!!!!!

This was our first year to the Chip and it was incredible! Pure tent city where we were, but met wonderful people from all over the country! The facilities were way better than I expected, (nice HOT showers!!) and the trash collection each day kept everything neat. We had everything we needed at the Chip (except a paved back-way to sneak in and avoid the crowd in downtown Sturgis!!) Thanks so much - see you next year!!

THANKS FOR THE PARTY! OUT OF 4 YEARS THERE THIS WAS BY FAR THE BEST EVER! I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR- SEE YA'LL THEN!!The concerts were good...Kid Rock was the best...enjoyed REO too! Met lots of great people...Richard, Elliot & Larry...the gang from NY. Hope you all made it home safe! I know I'll be back to Sturgis next year and I might stay at the Chip again...but not in a tent...It will be in a RV. :) It was tooooo cold! Thanks for a memoriable week. I was sad that it had to end. And believe it or not...I miss the voice of the announcer saying Good Morning Chippers! LOL
